There Great Mar 17, 2010 I Make and Sell Karaoke CD's you can view my C D's at JimsKaraoke dot com , and I go on tours with the Barefoot Man from the Cayman Islands and I use these speakers for my presentation , these are best sounding speakers I have ... You will need an equalizer to use them on a TV ... The Sound and Look is just great and it's a great deal for the money ... Thanks Jim
Speakers Mar 14, 2010 Thee work great for my TV room. Finishes off the surround sound. Little lacking for just music. Great price. Little large for bookshelf speakers.
Impressive sound and great versatility Mar 13, 2010 I've had these speakers for over two years now and they've stood the test of time really well. I needed to have some speakers as an interim solution until I could afford the ones I really wanted. I paid $72.00 from the now defunct guys in red. For that money I wasn't really expecting much. Boy was I wrong! I have used these in virtually every capacity, fronts, rears, stereo only and they are really great speakers. I've even used them in my screened-in porch as stereo speakers paired with a 90's vintage Sony stereo receiver of 50 wpc. This combo produced enough sound to bring the boys in blue over and my neighbors aren't even that close... My take on the sound quality is that they produce excellent bass and clarity is good, however they are not as "bright" as some might like. I was also using them with a 120 wpc JVC amp and they sounded very full with surprising bass. Do yourself a favor though, throw away the included speaker wire and use some 14 or 16 gauge wire it makes a huge difference in bass response. I'm guessing that some reviewers who said the bass was a little weak were using the included wire. These are still a great deal here at amazon and are very good sounding speakers with the versatility that makes them a tremedous value in a budget speaker. Sound quality: 4 stars. Value: a definite 5 stars!
Great Buy Mar 07, 2010 After reading reviews on several bookshelf speakers, I decided these. I have not been disappointed. I'm not very technical so my opinion may not count for very much but I am very pleased.
Great Speakers for the Money Mar 06, 2010 First I just want to say that these speakers are an amazing value for the money. I only paid $80 for these speakers and they suit my needs perfectly. I use them as bookshelf speakers in my dorm room and they are almost more powerful than I need them to be. My room setup doesn't let me put them in the best position to get great sound, but they still sound great. I have them hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V363 5.1 receiver, but I am only running them in stereo. They have a decent amount of bass, but they tend to get a little bit boomy (although that might be mainly due to their placement). So, to compensate for this, I got a Paradigm PDR-8 subwoofer to cover the low end. I set the crossover at about 80 Hz and that sounds great. The only downside to these speakers is the midrange. When using the sub, the midrange tends to get lost in the mix. But honestly, for $80 I can't ask for much more. So don't buy these expecting to get top of the line sound quality. If you're looking for cheap speakers that will get loud then these are for you.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
