Great Sub. Jul 02, 2010 Ok first of, this subwoofer's amp is a bit too powerful for the speaker. I bought this because it has better power handling than the SAW 2500. But this one goes into distortion be4 the SAW 2500. Usually the volume level is a bit higher for the SAW 2500 because i want a blend instead of a massacre. But My SAW 3000 distorts sound alot. Dont get me wrong, its loud and deep. I like it too. I have ran so many test on this thing and it beats the SAW 2500 by far. 20Hz is VERY quiet when being played through this speaker. but atleast it's there. Bottom line, ur making a great investment in a subwoofer. this is the most i have ever paid for a subwoofer. Maybe one day i can have something buy Def. Tech. I'm checking out BIC AMERICA at the moment. But for now this Sony is rockin my house to peices.
Sony did well. Jun 25, 2010 Sony SA-W3000 Performance Line 12" 180-Watt SubwooferSony did a nice job on this unit. It sounds Great and the price can't be beat. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a good subwoofer at a great price. Amazon is a great place to shop, and with free shipping they can't be beat.
Great Value. May 27, 2010 I have been using this sub for about a month now....Very happy with the sound quality. I had a 12" passive sub from radio shack for about 10 years but wanted to go with an active sub to go with my new 52" LCD. Other ratings looked pretty good, so I figured I will try this sony sub. My left & right speakers go down to 75 Hz, so I keep the sub crossing over in that area. I watch movies loud but not blasting. I find this sub to give the perfect low punch that I couldn't get from my old passive sub.
I have been using the sub every day, both movies and TV.
I would recommend this sub to anyone looking for good sound for an good price.
Outdoor Use-Nice For The Price May 21, 2010 We are using this sub-woofer for our outside listening pleasure. Though it could use deeper sound this item works perfectly well for the price. We did not want to invest heavily for using it outdoors. Hook-ups were fine even for the older receiver we are currently using.
I think I would suggest this for indoor use if I were going to set-up a secondary music/movie viewing room for kids.
Great sub for the money!!! May 11, 2010 I purchased this sub a few months ago. I wanted a more powerful sub to go along with my Monitor Audio Silver Series 5.0 surround system driven thru my Sony STR-DG820. I bought the sub from Amazon.com at a slightly higher price and free shipping with Amazon Prime. I am assuming it is no longer being carried by Amazon.com as it might be in limited supply and/or discontinued. Even with the $27+ shipping charge from TigerDirect it is still a good bargain. You will not be disappointed if you purchase it.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
