Good Purchase. Jun 15, 2009 This was a great deal, and great quality. I had been shopping around for tvs for a while. A LOT cheaper than the exact same model that's at Best Buy. They delivered when they said they were going to. No hassles.
Excellent after changing Settings May 31, 2009 My tv has been hooked up to a Comcast hd dvr (hdmi cable) for 5 months without any problems. The picture is excellent and I no longer have any glare issues. However, at first I wasn't thrilled with the picture.
Here are my Setting suggestions:
Picture/Motion Enhancer: Off, Screen/Auto Wide: Off, General Setup/Light Sensor: Off, General Setup/Logo Illumination: Off
You have four separate Setting choices for Picture. I use Standard for watching tv during the day and Custom for at night.
Standard Settings (daytime viewing) - Backlight 6, Picture 80, Brightness 50 Color 55, Hue 0, Color Temp: Warm 1, Sharpness 15, Noise Reduction: Low, MPEG Noise Reduc.: Low. I don't believe I changed any of the Advanced Settings, but here are the values: Black Corrector: Low, Advanced CE: Medium, Gama: Low, Clear White: Off, Color Space: Wide, Live Color: Low.
Custom Settings (nighttime viewing) - All of the Standard Settings including the Advanced Settings were used except for these three: Backlight: Min, Picture 94, Brightness 53.
I hope my suggestions are helpful.
Great TV May 29, 2009 Setting this up was easy, and I bought a Sony HTIB and hooked it up, both work well together. The TV's volume when the Home Theater is not on isn't as loud as it could be when watching HD channels. This could be my Cable provider, other than than a near perfect system.
Better than expected May 28, 2009 I've had this TV for about a month now. The setup was very simple. The sound quality is way better than I thought it would be. We're not big on filling the room up with speakers and with this TV ... there's no need to. The stereo sound quality is very good.
The picture quality is stunning. I am totally mesmerized! Couldn't be happier. It's my third Sony and there's a reason why you pay a little bit more. They are the best, IMO.
46" Sony Bravia 'Z' Series May 05, 2009 It's only been almost a month since I got this product and so far, I haven't encountered any problem. It worked beautifully out of the box, no glare and the picture is crisp and near perfect though I haven't even done any adjustment yet (except turning off the light sensor as suggested by a lot of knowledgable reviewers). I mounted it on the wall so I couldn't tell whether or not there's any tilting problem. I am just hoping that I got the right (updated) base in case I decide to get it off the wall.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
