 good TV with a little technical blemish Apr 02, 2009
SONY makes fine TV's. don't know if it's this unit, or this model in general, but when playing blu ray at 24p, there's blurry halo around a moving subject, not all the time, not with every moving subject, but with every movie.

"I'm in love". oh what a beautiful television. It shines in all catagories from watching Blue-ray movies-to playing video games, It is all good. My only regret is that i didn't grab the 52" before they were all sold out. thank God the 46" are still around. Grab it while you can because XBR5 is unique in appearance as well as performance. It is everything I wanted. The picture definition is outstanding. Everyone says WOW! when they first watch it. The audio is ok I added a outboard surround system that is a vast improvement.

this was the most incredible deal i had ever seen for this tv. i actually had to read the fine print to see what kind of catch there was....and there was none. i bought it expecting to get a call or taken some how. but i wasn't. i recieved emails every time something was going on with the purchase, shipping, or delivery of the tv. got it, and it is amazing!

With this sony TV you just can't go wrong. Excellent picture quality (remember that your picture quality depends on the source, poor source poor picture, good source good picture. Lots of features, just beautiful.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
