 tv- amazing, experience-not Jan 17, 2010
The TV was a gift and has been thoroughly enjoyed by the recipient. Definitely recommend the TV! VERY light, great picture, great sound!
I was not pleased, however, with the experience. I have bought off Amazon hundreds of times and always had a great experience! This time, Im afraid, was not the same. I ordered the TV 10 days before Christmas and it arrived a week after Christmas (which isnt fun when it is a present). It was impossible for me to get in touch with the shipping company. I tried calling several times and emailing with no response! They finally called my house phone to set up a time (an 8 hour window of time I had to be home on a weekday) and when they showed up it was only curb delivery- which was not stated anywhere! We had about 8 inches of snow on the ground and I was at home by myself with a one year old leaving me unable to carry the huge box inside until someone else got home. I thought I was making it easier on myself by having it delivered with "free shipping", but looking back would just go to the store so I could guarantee arrival before Christmas and would have someone with me to bring it inside the house.

 Home Theater Store = BAIT & SWITCH Nov 19, 2009
First off this is not a negative review of the Sony BRAVIA W-Series KDL-52W4100 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV. This is negative review of the seller Home Theater Store which pulled a BAIT & SWITCH on me when I tried to order the TV through Amazon. After I ordered the TV I received an email from Home Theater Store saying I was eligible for a free Sony upgrade to the KDL52W5150. I called Home Theater and told them I did not want the upgrade. They said they would ship out the TV I ordered (KDL52W4100) within 24 hours and I should receive the TV in 2 days. After not hearing from them 2 days later I call Home Theater and this time they tell me they do not have my TV anymore. ??? They say it's defective. I asked them when will they receive a new shipment of the TVs they said they will not receive anymore of the 52W4100. They told me I can either cancel my order or get the Sony upgrade KDL52W5150. Needless to say I was infuriated and cancelled my order. As of now they are still offering the KDL52W4100 on Amazon when they've told me they don't have it in the warehouse. I will never order from Home Theater Store and I strongly suggest Amazon remove their listing of this product.
 Problem with TV Nov 19, 2009
I bought this TV last summer. It performed so well that I bought another one 6 months later. Now some black lines started to develop on the screen of the first one. The factory warranty already expired, and replacing the panel is so expensive. Very disappointed. Just hope the second one will fare better.

nice TV, mounted it on a swivel wall mount, very eisy to watch, from most any angle. speaker bar on front so it projects sound in the direction it is facing
I bought this one year ago Sep 21, 2009
I decided to wait one year after purchasing this to write a review. After one year this TV has performed flawlessly. It is a great value, beautiful picture quality and easy to operate. I watch hockey, which is a fast moving game and the 120 Hz is just the anwer to the fast puck movement. Fast delivery and easy set-up. A completly satisfied purchase.

Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
