TV did not last after 2 years Aug 30, 2010 TV worked well for about 2 years. Then all of a sudden when I turned it on, it would play the melody, back light came on but screen went blank and after about 10 to 15 second later, the TV would reboot again. It just kept cycling through and would not power up completely. Not sure what happened. This is the shortest life time for any TV I have owned.
Top of the line Apr 01, 2010 I strongly believe that Samsung has the best line of HD TVs available. I have not yet seen a TV able to match the picture I get for the price I paid. I have had this TV for over a year and still get amazed from time to time when watching HD TV shows/movies. Very nice design and easy to use remote.

Word of caution Apr 01, 2010 We purchased this TV about 21 months ago. Until recently we have been very happy with our purchase. The picture quality is superb! We were so happy we purchased a second Samsung TV. However, this week we have experience a problem. When I attempted to turn the TV on it started cycling on and off after a few minutes the picture would come up. Today the TV started cycling again and the picture has yet to come up. I called Samsung and they arranged to have the TV serviced, but since we did not purchase the extended warranty we are on our own to cover the costs. I did some research on the Internet and found that this problem is not uncommon with this TV. It appears to happen within the first 2 years. At this time I don't know what the service is going to cost. Estimates I saw reported were for around $300. I believe that a class action lawsuit is in the works. [...]
If you purchase this TV I recommend the extended warranty. Please understand that our family never purchases extended warranties, however, based on my experience and research I am extending these words of caution with this product.
the wireless linkstick is out of market - no any support from samsung Mar 31, 2010 Samsung posted comment on the CNET that the LN##A### is 08 model, since it is 08 model, so the linkstick (WIS-08BGxx) is not produced any more. So if you want to have wireless network with your PC, this is not for youto buy. The question is why they still make this 08 model on the market with fake description to cheat on the customer. My guess is Samsung plans to have this function BUT FAILED and they do not want to solve this problem at all (may be they do NOT have this ability to fix it)!
TV rebooting / on-off issue Feb 07, 2010 Just to warn everyone contemplating buying this tv or any other samsung tvs ( search google ). After about 6 months the tv just will not start. rather it goes into rebooting itself. You just don't have any control over the tv. It starts and you can hear the initial sound but then no display and the tv goes off in a while to start all over again. Very frustrating and annoying to happen in just 6 months. Searching google it seems this is a very common problem and Samsung doesnt have a clue as to what's happening. I have extended warranty so will update on how it goes fixing this issue. It's a warning to all spending so much money on a branded tv. Rather go with vizio or any other cheap tv so as to not waste hard earned money.
Update: TV got fixed. Took 2 weeks though. Tech told me all the parts are new and warned that these are very common problems with Samsung. If you buying any Samsung, folks get extended warranty. I just hope it doesnt go bad again !

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
