Beyond Incredible. Stunning in build quality. Jun 19, 2010 Amazing speakers delivered ahead of time. They look and sound incredible. Still breaking them in. Paired to an Elite receiver and Polk sub. 100 inch projection screen with a Sony projector. Watched the world cup and I felt as though I was on the field. Totally astounded by the sound quality. Do not hesitate to buy these babies, you wont be disapointed. Everyone who has seen them in action is drooling over these speakers!

Excellent Speakers Jan 09, 2010 The first thing I noticed in these speakers were their ability to produce midrange sounds effortlessly. This may be due to the driver configuration, but it works. But I'm not going to say the mid range just floats in the air like the high end speakers but does the job well. They need decent amount of power to sound at their best. I have a Denon 3805 (120x7) and feel its bit underpowered for these speakers as I have to push the volume way up for powerful sound to be produced, yet they sound great. In the shop they had these connected to a Denon Stereo amp (200x2) which drove these pretty well.
I used paradigm M9 as mains before (for 5 years) I got the polk and the paradigm were much easier to drive and their bass was more pronounced but clarity wise, polk wins hands down. Also I think the bass has better definition with Polk than the paradigm speakers which sounds bloated in comparison.
These speakers need good source material(CD/DVD/Blu-ray) to show its true potential as they reveal 'not so great' recordings pretty quickly. I have several reference audiophile recordings which sounds really great with these as those recordings prevail mostly in midrange clarity.
Speaking of the midrange quality, try playing the echo game scene from 'House of flying daggers' at a high volume. You will be amazed with the quality of the sound coming from these speakers. Powerful and a sharp punch of the drum and a soothing midrange percussion that's reproduced effortlessly with good authority and clarity.
Despite the size of these speakers and the number of drivers, you will still need a decent sub to complement it for movies. My room is pretty big (19x18) with high ceilings, that could be a factor as well.
I have also considered the price paid for these speakers in my review. There sure has been several other speakers which I think sounds much better, like Thiel, MA platinum series etc, that will make you be there than just listening to it. But, they cost few times more than polk and will need one hell of a good amp to drive them.
BTW - I also listened to the Lsi9 before buying these and that sound was at times a bit too warm for my taste but still amazing speakers for music, which truly dazzles with SACD material played via a high end player. But I wanted something for Movies as well and ended up with these. They gave me a 30% discount on the price which made my choice much easier.
Bottom line - Polk is value for money. Just choose the best ones they produce and you will be more than just happy with it like me.

Home User Jun 15, 2009 As far as Price go I would expect more sound more mid range and tweeter stability. I use the DENON AVR 4308CI this baby pump up to 145 Watts/ch
I could not go pass 0db on the receiver cause the mid to hi would be all distorted. I had my old Book shelve Bose and it does up 5 db with crispy clean sound. I bought these RTI A9 and CSI A10 and it does pretty good at low volume up to -20 db. higher than that the mid to hi frequency start to saturate. I bought these hoping to be able to maxx my Volume and rock my world. eventually it does no different, More Bass indeed but loss the high end stability. Don't know why other would say these are 5 star and they love it. To me it just another average set of speaker. Don't know how it would sound with hi power AMP. Cause I don't plan to go that direction. For now I'm just stuck with a very expensive average speaker.

Freaking awesome speakers-- but make sure you can handle them. Dec 03, 2008 These speakers are freaking awesome-- IF you have the juice to power them -- and of course, only if you don't have close neighbors. I am using them with a Harman Kardon AVR-354 7x75W 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver ($482.88 from Amazon-- or $800+ from Best Buy) and they sound RIDICULOUSLY good-- you can hear EVERYTHING. I have them paired with a Polk Audio DSW PRO 500 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer (Single, Black), a Polk Audio CSI A6 Center Channel Speaker (Single, Black) and 4x FXiA3 surround speakers.

Wonderful Sound Nov 27, 2008 These speakers replaced a set of paradigm's that I was i love with from day one. After nearly 20 years it was finally time to upgrade my system and these polks didnt disappoint at all. They are driven by an Adcom GFA-5300 and sound wonderful at every level. I highly recommend them to anyone seking serious sound.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
