 Great speakers Feb 19, 2009
I've been very happy with this sound system, although I've been using it in conjunction with separate front speakers in a 7 channel system. The extra satellites help enormously when trying to fill dead zones in the room.

No bass speaker included but still worth the money. Makes my hd dvd player sound incredible. Great sound for the price

Buy the RM6900 package - and get a subwoofer for free Feb 28, 2007
I have the Harmon Kardon AVR7300 receiver with these 5 speakers- and the sound is unbelievably awesome! The range and sound clarity in the three fronts is excellent. The mids and highs are crystal clear.
The mounting brackets could be better (can't fit any gold plated connectors with the mounting brackets), however the set of universal binding brackets was minor for the trade-off in excellent sound quality.
If you are thinking of buying the famous black cubes with the famous black sub from a company that makes a wave radio... think it over. I used to run those cubes and although they are nice and small, these Polk speakers blow them away! I couldn't be happier.
Currently the price has dropped on the RM6900 package which includes a subwoofer for free. The included subwoofer isn't the best, but replace it and sell the old one on Craigslist or Ebay and you'll save some money on this package. The RM20 and RM6900 packages include the same front, rear, and center channel speakers.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
