Usually ships in 1 business days | | Only 1 left in stock, order soon! | | | | | | The Polk FXi A6 surround speakers combine top-notch home theater performance with flexible placement options. These cleverly designed rear-channel speakers feature two tweeters aimed 45-degree from each other, for an ideal mix of direct and indirect sound. A dipole/bipole switch lets you position the FXi A6s on the rear or side walls of your home theater room ¿ you'll get great results either way. If you place them behind your listening position, set them to bipole mode for distinct, directional sound. Or set them to dipole mode for side placement, and they'll create a more diffuse soundfield for convincing wraparound effects. Polk carefully designed the drivers using laser testing to help identify and eliminate resonance points. The acoustically inert MDF cabinets fight internal vibrations that can compromise performance. It all adds up to enveloping surround sound that fully immerses you in the movie action. | | | |

Excellant Speakers Sep 16, 2009 Okay, to start I am not a not married to any one brand. I listen to them all and picked what sounded best for my ears and wallet. There are several nice speakers and brands out there. Some are harsh and thats nice for some people. Some are slightly more detailed and cost thousands per speaker and thats nice for some people too. What I found is that the difference for me was not great enough between highend and mid level speakers to justify speading that much on a single speaker. I will take a vacation instead.
Now for my thoughs on these speakers....
These speakers do a great job of throwing the sound around the room and provide a wonderful effect when watching movies. Warm crisp highs and great detail. It made a huge difference in my movie watching experience. I could not be happier with the sound they produce or quality of the speakers. For the price I paid these were an excellent investment.
My only suggestion for any of you looking a purchasing these is to stick with like type speakers. Speaker lines are designed to match each other and if placing a Polk Monitor with Polk RTI you will not get a nice blend. This holds true for any brand you go with.
To you reading reviews. Don't take everything you get of the internet as the word of god. It is easy to make a website and claim you know what you are talking about. Go to a forum and talk to real people. But do not listen to everyone as there will be people on forums like the ones decribed below. Don't go to a fan club site and expect them to recommend buying speakers that are not the type of speakers they own. Don't ask the guy at the store you visit which speaker they like best either. They will sell you the speaker that makes them the most profit. It does not mean they will sell you the most expensive speaker just the one with the largest mark up. You are the one that has to listen to the speakers 98% of the time so choose what sounds good to you. On the other hand don't skimp and buy the cheapest speakers out there either.
Go out and listen to some. Then come back here and buy some. Best of luck.
Now its time to vent. So don't bother reading beyond here unless you want to hear my thoughts on this subject.
My feelings on bashers and unqualified reviews that claim to have bought other speakers after owning polk or any other brand is this.
Speaker bashing is goofy and usually done by someone that spent to much on the speakers they bought and need to feel justified by putting down all brands that are not what they own. This childish behavier can be found all over the internet. If you have more money then brains feel free to buy the top of the line speakers that set you back way more than 1000 per speaker. While your at it don't forget buy some speaker cable from well lets say one of those big wire sellers. You know, one of those monster sized companies that sells wire for 10X more than an off brand of equal quality. After all the packaging is so nice it must mean the wire is better. Wire is wire. Don't believe me do a search you will find out on your own. I feel better now.

Not the greatest Sep 16, 2009 Rather large, bulky, obtrusive surround sound speaker. Materials seem rather cheap, but then again this is not a really expensive set of speakers.. Ok sound. Ended up selling them andd getting a pair of Definitive BP speakers, which are far superior....

Amazing Surround Speakers Feb 26, 2009 Didn't buy these from the big A, but own them none the less. These are great. Expensive, but the sound is very clear with excellent range. I have a dedicated home theater room and regularly watch movies at high volume. No loss of clarity. My only regret is buying 4 instead of just 2. There aren't enough 7.1 sources out there to warrant the extra expense... yet.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
