Amazing tv! Mar 25, 2010 Don't be fooled by people that tell you that you can't get a good picture with a 720p plasma. We have this tv and the 42" panasonic plasma in 720p. Both have an amazing picture! We couldn't be more happy. Don't be afraid to buy this tv. Great value for the $$$

Don't be fooled by the plasma stigma Jan 13, 2010 This TV is the best buy when it comes to dollar per inch. I purchased this plasma at a local retailer for $630, and am very, very impressed with the unit. The picture is fantastic, and puts my old 32" Sharp LCD to shame. The black levels can't be matched, the menus are responsive, and the resolution looks nearly the same as a 1080P television.
I use this television to play games on and for movies. My xbox 360 works beautifully with it, and I have seen no evidence of image retention.
Movies look great. My friends always want to come over to watch movies on my TV due to it's fantastic picture and size!
I like the remote. It's not the most ergonomic, but it certainly gets the job done.
Speakers are awful. Hook up a 5.1 surround sound unit and solve the problem. I recommend stereo Polk, Klipsh or Sony component speakers and a simple 5.1 channel amplifier with a optical-in.
FYI, this TV runs linux.
I rate it 5*. No issues or problems, easy set-up. This TV weighs about 90lbs, I suggest a sturdy stand.

DO NOT GET A PLASMA TV SHIPPED FROM MONTANA Jan 06, 2010 It's just a bad idea. I got one as a gift for Christmas. It was cracked. Not Amazon's fault, but the shipping company Vann's and YRC are a bunch of idiots. I had to take a half day from work and they inexplicably changed the order date to the next day without telling me. I broke down and went to a local place and paid a bit more, but had a tv, without the hassle.
never ever again

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
