Top of the Plasma Pile Feb 03, 2010 Amazingly sharp image, excellent grayscale, very good color fidelity, except for slightly pumped reds, and the usual compliment of connectivity are the traditional hallmark of Panasonic plasma televisions and this set is no exception. This set will not disapoint anyone except for the really picky who will bemoan the oversaturated reds. Blu Ray is truly astounding and Direct TV is excellent except for the graininess that is one of the traits of the channels that broadcast in 720P, which would be exhibited on any set. The issue with flicker raised by other reviewers disappears once you set the refresh rate at 48hz. At that rate the image is flicker and shudder free. While it might be a little small for a home theater set up it is unbeatable for a more intimate setting like a living room. It is a worthwhile investment and my recent experiences with Panasonic quality have been very positive. Highly recommended!
Panasonic G15 Jan 07, 2010 Great unit. Plug in, adjust sound, and set works great with no other initial adjustments. Shoulda gone larger. Would buy another if needed.
Wonderful TV Jan 04, 2010 I spent many hours researching HDTVs and looking at them in showrooms before deciding on this one. For the price, you will not find a TV that has better color and contrast.
Pros:
- Very accurate colors at every angle.
- Deep pitch black blacks.
- Lots of HD inputs.
- Under $1,000 when on sale.
- Almost zero glare (impressive for a plasma).
- True 1080p HD picture.
- Simple easy-to-use remote.
Cons:
- Very limited color adjusting controls.
- VGA input instead of DVI. Guess I'll need to get a video card that has HDMI out.

Excellent Plasma TV Choice Dec 20, 2009 I purchased the Panasonic TC-P46G15 two weeks ago after extensive research of the available options. I chose Panasonic because of it's reputation as a leader in plasma TVs. I'll admit I wasn't overly impressed with the TV's picture and sound at first. My cable service was not HD compatible. However, I had FIOS installed yesterday and the TV knocked my socks off! The HD picture is amazing and the sound is impressive. Consumer Reports had given the TV picture an excellent review and the sound a poor review. Once the FIOS box was connected to the TV with a HDMI cable, the sound improved considerably. I had thought I was going to need to buy a home theater system soon, but now that I know how good the sound is, I can take my time in choosing a surround sound system. Bottom line: connect your HD cable/satellite/fiber optic box to the TV with a HDMI cable. You will be very pleased with the results.

Panasonic Leads the Market Dec 10, 2009 I recently received my P46G15 a few days ago, it replaced my 53" Ambilight from Philips, a Plasma TV that is around 4-5 years old if not more. I had done a lot of research in what to buy, as it stands there are four main categories of TVs available in the market; Plasmas, LCD, LED, Laser. All these TVs produce a their own pros and cons, I suggest you brush up on your info by going to websites like hdguru. The reason I choose another Plasma is because of their unrivaled ability to produce the best picture quality. LCDs and LEDs remove a lot of the "movie" quality in the picture making it seem a lot less life like and a lot more mechanical.
There are a lot of pros on this TV, much to many to list, but some that stand out off the top of my head are; new NEO DPD panel, its energy efficient, and it comes boxed in a 2" housing(well, more like 3.5" housing vs a 8" housing for my old plasma). It comes with a ton of input jacks (important to me since I have 3HDMI devices). It also comes with some bonus features, which are a great living room, things like VIERA cast, which allows you to connect other Panasonic devices through HDMI and control them through one remote AND stream internet programming straight to your TV, including software updates. Although like many TVs out there this set requires external speakers for your listening pleasure, I myself choose a Panasonic 1200w HTiB.
There are a few drawbacks though. I game a substantial amount and found my games to be a bit too dark even with its "GAME" video setting. IE: In GTA4 it was night time and I was T-boned by another vehicle, I fell into the back alley of a couple of buildings off the free way, it was so pitch black that I gave up trying to find my way, even with contrast and brightness cracked to 100 they seem to affect the screen very little at best. The other issue is THX, this is a known problem in all G15/G10 models (maybe even V10?). Simply put, THX is broken, colors are washed out with a yellow/green hue, you can achieve much much better visuals through a custom setting. The last issue is 24p playback, this is a feature that as a manufacture I would not have included in my TV line up. 24p is completely unwatchable, it causes a lot of picture flicker making it completely unbearable. This makes me think who in the QA dept fell asleep at the wheel to allow such a broken/useless feature to be included. If you want 24p play back scale up to a V10 series.
In closing, I would definitely recommend this TV as being the absolute best picture:dollar ratio with energy saving features and a great sleek design, although it comes with some drawbacks its pros far outweigh them by a substantial margin. So go ahead, pull the trigger and be amazed!

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
