Heard instruments I've never heard before in songs I've heard a lot of times. Buy a set you won't be disappointed, you'll love them.

My First JBL and i am sold Jan 09, 2010
I have been looking to buy this speaker for long time I have been reading reviews and everybody is saying good things about this speaker and I expected to be really good and it exceeded my expectations by mile I have Bose speaker with sub woofer and they don't sound this clear on my Yamaha receiver and I am telling you will not regret this purchase I have been listening this speaker for about month and all kind of music I am Indian I love and listen to all kind of music from Indian music to frank Sinatra to rap as long as it doesn't have lot of profanity and everything in between I can't tell you how happy it makes me to listen to music on this speaker I come home and turn them on listen to old LP on my turntable one very good thing about this speaker no matter how low the volume is it sounds just as clear and you can listen to it for hours and not make you tired of them just a caution I have read reviews and people are saying they are big and you kind of expect them to be big but when you see them they are really big I mean big and heavy and well built they have air outlet on beck you might want to keep them about 3 to 4 inch away from wall I have sent them next to my 50 inch plasma and they just about half to height of TV with base they are saying book shelf but they are not book shelf size bass is very good you don't need sub woofer with speaker I am very happy and you will be to if you buy them

JBL Craftsmanship and Sound at a Budget Price Oct 23, 2009
I'm looking at these speakers now on my shelf saying, "How do they do this for $350?" The moment you heft one of these out of the box, you know that there is that JBL quality in your hands. Absolutely perfect and flawless finish, robust, elegant well thought out and executed. Mine are in Cherry and they look beautiful. Ok, but these are speakers - what do they SOUND like?
I've been buying JBL speakers (and others too) since 1969. With JBL you rarely get cheated out of any spectrum. Bookshelf or full standing floor models, there will be a good balance of bass and midrange and treble, and this speaker is no exception. It sounds wonderfully balanced with no obvious exaggerations. Clear, clean and strong. I am using them with a 50W Onkyo receiver and there is no possible way I'd run out of power in my 22 x 16 room. I had a small subwoofer I was using with my previous bookshelf speakers. After installing these JBLs I unhooked it - not needed.
I am generally not a big fan of 3-way speakers which often have a disjointed or discombobulated kind of sound in the midrange. Not so here - this is as coherent and clear in the midrange as speakers I've owned costing many times the price of these. Vocal music sounds spectacularly good!
There are a LOT of small speakers out there and many of them cost upwards of $2500 a pair in audiophile circles. I can say with no hesitation this speaker will compete well sonically with any small bookshelf speaker at any price. Oh, speaking of bookshelves? Make sure yours is robust and strong - these speakers weigh a ton and a half.
JBL always shows them with the grills off, but they do come with nice black snap in grills which stand off about 1/2" from the face of the cabinet for a very nice appearance.
The binding posts on the back are strapped for bi-wire or bi-amping - a nice touch! I am not using that feature, but you never know. I bought my first JBL Lancers in 1969 for about $149 I think. That would translate into well over $1000 today, so these great sounding speakers at $350 have to be a real steal.
In a sea of junk consumer crap, these feel like the Real Deal, the Genuine Article, the Real McCoy is alive and well.

Super! Great sound! Oct 21, 2009
These are really high quality speakers and best buy ever. They are by far the best sounding smaller speakers I ever listened to. I had a chance compare them to 8 times more expensive units and they still hold the ground. JBL has a great name which is supported by great products every time I buy from them. The speakers are also very beautiful and well made.

small speaker BIG SOUND! Aug 21, 2009
Matched these fine speakers up to a small Yamaha receiver, turntable & CD player and couldn't be happy with the end result. Very clean sound with plenty of punch at all volume settings. At this level, JBL builds a quality speaker that's as natural sounding as can be. I've owned a pair of L112's for more than 27 years now and just have to say that I think they build the best speakers available for us "middle-of-the-road" hi-fi enthusiasts! I'm very pleased with these and the price paid for them! Excellent buy!

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
