Out of stock | | | | | | Furniture meets engineering in the Energy RC-Mini center channel speaker. With an incredible small physical size, the RC-Mini Center is capable of being installed in almost any location, while delivering an audio performance that will have you convinced that you are a part of the recording. The small stature is complemented by your choice of rosenut or cherry real wood veneers, or high gloss piano black. Despite its size, the patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround Kevlar woofers are capable of delivering impressive bass and midrange output, while the 1" aluminum dome tweeter sparkles over its entire operating range. As with every Energy speaker, attention to detail is a major focus, and the RC-Mini Center does not disappoint. Incredible amounts of work went into developing the unique weave of material used in the Kevlar woofer cones, thus allowing the RC-Mini Center to perform the way it does. Also, with its magnetic logo, the RC-Mini Center is capable of double duty, as it can be used in a horizontal or vertical orientation. This allows one model of speaker to be used as the front left / center / and right, ensuring perfect tonal balance and timbre matching. There is even an optional mounting bracket for the RC-Mini Center, allowing it to be installed in any custom application. The RC-Mini Center, the perfect combination of style and performance. | | | | | |

great sound from a beatiful little package! Jun 16, 2010 I recently purchased a used pair of cherry rc-10s and was immediately impressed with how good they sounded, so I decided to swap out the front three speakers in my home theater. As the matching center for the rc-10s - the rc-lcr - is REALLY expensive and much more than I was willingable to spend, I went ahead and considered the rc-mini cc.
Looks - I ordered the rosenut with is lighter than the picture looks but is as gorgeous as others have said. One important note - it is almost a perfect match for the cherry rc-10s, which are darker than the picture. Next to each other you can tell the difference. A couple feet apart and no one will ever know.
Sound - same tweeter as the rest of the rc line so its a good match for the larger rc-10s in that respect. The woofers are slightly smaller and not made of the same material, but tonally overall I would say that these are perfectly matched. Coming from a larger center channel I would say you lose mid-bass punch, and certain sounds a slightly more compressed even with the crossover set but very slightly. If I hadnt had a nice large center speaker before this I would not have a single complaint, and because I love the tweeter and the overall tonal quality so much I still dont have any major complaints. You do have to crossover at 100-120 hz, so make sure your sub can handle it. Break-in absolutely makes a difference on both the rc-mini cc and the rc-10, especially in the midrange which was slightly chesty sounding at first. Other than that, this is a great center especially if budget andor space is a concern. Recommended.

After 6 months ... Feb 06, 2010 I only like these speakers more and more. My rating considers the size limitations, not comparing them with the best towers or planar speakers. I put a new tv over the fireplace, obsoleting my current front speaker array. After lots of legwork I did not find anything from Bose, Definitive Techology, Paradigm or anyone else. They all had 3 1/2 inch woofers. Ironically, after wasting gas and time coming to no satisfactory solution, I went online and came across a half price promotion on the Energy RC Mini system. The satellites are 7" high and the center only 5", allowing for 4 1/2 " woofers. I was familiar enough with Energy to know they were audiophile quality product,so I ordered them. The literature recommends a break-in period and I'll attest to the benefit of that. Turn on the radio when you leave for work for a few days. The difference once broken in is considerable-more bass, more depth of field, highs sweeten. Put in the time with your AV receiver and your subwoofer controls and you will be highly rewarded. The center channel is wonderfully articlate. The satellites weigh almost 5 pounds each, and not as big as a 5 pound bag of sugar-serious guts, gorgeous cabinets, wall mounting brackets included (I did not use them). The system is almost invisible and sounds like guilty pleasure, but for very little money. I would do the basement differently, but for the average family room it's fabulous. It reaches it's limit at the kitchen table at the opposite end of the house, but still works well. I only drive them with 50WPC and the Energy's will handle 200wpc. I wonder what that would do ...?

Dont look any further Mar 05, 2009 - very compact
- surprisingly rich and clear given the size
- the second you open the box, you know the quality is first notch
- energy is probably one of the warmest/smoothest speakers out there
To put things in prespective if I had to compare energy to a car, I would say its a Jaguar as opposed to a Mercedes or BMW. The look and feel of the material is second to non and there is just something about these speakers that makes you feel good and engaged specially when listening to music.

Unbeatable looks and sound in a tiny package Aug 22, 2008 Energy has always been an underrated speaker company, flying under the radar compared to more well-known Canadian brands like Paradigm. They have unbeatable bang for the buck, and these RC-minis are yet another of their winning products.
You simply cannot match the fit and finish of the RC speakers at the price, period. The real-wood rosenut and cherry veneers are absolutely stunning, this is not some cheap vinyl fake wood-grain laminate. This is real, furniture grade wood veneer, and will blend beautifully with any decor.
Plus, of course, this speaker sounds great. Obviously, you can't get huge sound from a small speaker, there are physical constraints. But the RC-Mini will absolutely blow away any little micro-sat center speaker, the tweeter is so smooth and refined and it has legitimate extension down to almost 100Hz (i.e. no giant hole in your midrange when blended with a sub).
You do have to cross it over at 100 or 120Hz, but most tiny sats will need a 150Hz crossover or higher and you get major blending/localization issues with your sub, which should never be trying to go that high anyway.
If you have limited space constraints, and want a speaker that will sound great and look even better, take a serious look a the RC-Minis. If you have the room the full-size RC's are even better, with the same stunning wood veneer finish.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
