Excellent Speakers Apr 08, 2010
Using these as rear surrounds in a 7.1 setup...all Energy RC speakers except for the center, which is the new CC10. Excellent clarity. I believe I tried these out as front speakers to see what they sounded like...very good. A lot of sound from a small speaker!
Impressive for such small speakers Apr 01, 2010
I bought six of these, the matching center and a 10 inch Energy sub from Vann's about 8 months ago. I love them. They sounded great out of the box but have definately improved since breaking in (over 2000 hours play time at this point). The look and feel are way beyond my expectations. I know they aren't cheap but, once you see and hear them they're worth every penny, a bargain even. After listening to small speakers for over a year (upgrading from Polk Audio RM series) I don't think there is a comparison in this price range, or anywhere below $400 per for that matter. FYI I'm using a Denon 3310 to power them. I found them to be too bright when connected to a Yamaha. They were also really good with an Onkyo but I got a great deal on the Denon.

I recently purchased these speakers as a second pair to the living room audio system. I was very concerned about their small size. However, after hooking them up that quickly went away as they are incredible! People mentioned a breakin time but right out of the box they sound great. They have remarkable bass for their size and have a clean, bright sound. I highly recommend these speakers. And Vanns has excellent service as I purchased a pair and receieved them in THREE days!

These looked too small to have any chance of sounding anywhere close to good. But when I sat them on top of my RC-30 towers and switched the wires to run them for a break-in period, I was stunned. They sounded about ten times bigger than they are.
Did they sound as good as the moderate sized towers they were sitting on? No. But for acoustic tracks or vocals, they were very close. Great imaging, and they have the same tweeters as their bigger brothers in the Reference Connoisseur line. The midrange driver is a bit smaller, but it gets into the upper bass. I kind of wish I would have ordered a couple more of these for future use. The ones I got are hanging now as rear surrounds. They sound fine, but I think it's a waste, because they could do a fine job as mains in a space-challenged system (especially if you add a sub).

the sound,the look,the finish,the crisp,mi inglish its not good for explain this produc,the price for the sound is a robery,just buy this.now in spanish.
bueno aca me puedo expresar mejor,ya antes compre el set de energy clasic el sonido y el producto en aspectos generales es bueno,pero de verdad no se compara con la calidad,claridad y potencia de estas cornetas.el acabado final es impecable, los conectores de primera,incluyen unas pequeñas bases de pared. en realidad por menos de 100$ cada una es una tonteria no tenerlas,las compre por el espacio de mi dormitorio pero en realidad sobrepaso todas mis espectativas,ya antes tuve jbl(pro3)b&w (cdm1)y ultimamente yamaha,ninguna se aproxima .la recomiendo,por cierto mi set de cuarto es un toshiba 40 1080 p,el energy classic como sorround ,mi yamaha htr 5530 y estas bellezas de principales

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
