Not BIg on sound Jul 25, 2010 I replaced a set of klipsch speakers (5) with these a few yrs back.My front speakers were klipsch legends.Anyways for a small speaker ,they are Great. But my room is acoustically poor. For listening to movies ,they are a bit better than the Klipsch, for music videos and cds ,no comparison. The big difference is the 2 large front speakers,as I said my room is poor for sound quality but the Bigger speakers fill the room better.
Great sound for the price!! Jan 30, 2010 I purchased these to replace a Definitive Tech Soundbar that I was not overly happy with. Was able to audition them at the local Magnolia Store. Compared to the mythos line and speakers on display from Martin Logan and Klipsh. Personally preferred them over a majority of the speakers I heard. For the price, they offer outstanding performance. They are a great match with the Super Cube 800.
They offer solid midrange peformance with a good soundstage, in my room I use them as Front L\R speakers for a modest surround sound setup (Onkyo 707 reciever). If you like detailed vocals with a pleasant sound stage and good imaging these are definitely a great choice. Yes, there is better out there, but at this price point you will be hard pressed to find something. No reservations in recomending this product! I am very happy with this purchase.
Great home entertainment speakers! Jan 24, 2010 I bought 4 of these over a year ago and have been very pleased with them. I have two for my front speakers & two for the rear. I know some will tell you to get something smaller for the rear but I wanted to keep the sound consistent as it moved from the front to the back and when playing games like MF2 or others with great sound I can tell a difference when I'm at friends houses. I use a pro center 2000 for the center & have a super cube sub (that shakes the whole house). Use is 60% gaming & 40% movies. I needed something I could wall mount to get away from floor speakers and these fit the bill. When I listened to all the others these just blew me away.. Personally these sounded better to me then speakers twice their price (in this size range). Every now and again I will play some music though them and am just blown away at how good they sound as a two speaker set up. For the size these are a great bang for the buck.
Maybe one day when the kids get bigger we can go back to floor standing speakers but for now I don't feel like I'm missing out on much with these. I plan to buy 2 more soon to complete my 7.1 setup soon.

Good buy! Sep 26, 2009 Pleasantly surprised! I needed to downsize from larger bookshelf speakers (Oldie but goodie JBLs). All around, these were a great choice.
I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile that no longer has a budget or space. I looked around on the internet at various small bookshelf models from Yamaha, Infinity, JBL, etc. I will say I took a leap of faith and bought these sound unheard...They sound great. Realistically, they are what they are. You're not going to get huge sound from them. I did notice that the are rated at a higher SPL (91) than most speakers and you can tell. The sound is quality though. Bass response isn't outstanding, but baritone to soprano vocals are full and clear.
Seeing as I'm a cheapskate, I didn't want to pay full price. I noticed that Amazon Warehouse had some at a reduced rate. The site stated that they were in "very good" condition with some "cosmetic blemishes." I used super saver shipping - they shipped within 4 days and they have no blemishes on them! They are very attractive speakers - the wife unit is very pleased.
If you're looking for a small bookshelf with good sound and great looks, I think these are it.

Great speakers! Aug 09, 2009 I use two 1000's for my front surround speakers and they are fantastic. Super bass response and much better then the Bose I used to have.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
