Big sound, small space Sep 15, 2009 The sound space created by this design, coupled with the full range of these speakers is outstanding. They passed the "Mannheim Steamroller Fresh Aire 4" test with ease. I am very pleased.

Def Tech BP7006 Speakers...Great Sound at a Great Price Jan 18, 2009 I must admit that I just brought these babies home today and are still in the box. I am having them installed early next week. I am using a Sony XBR 52" series 6 and a Harman Kardon Receiver that I purchased last year to run these. My experience in the store was WOW when I heard the sound of these speakers. They also gave me a great package price...got the 7006's for $800/pair, got the 2002 C/L/R speaker for $315, the rears I am going to put in the ceiling are Speakercraft AIM 8's series 1 for $300/pair...can't wait to get it hooked up. I also got the Supercube 2 for the rear of the room at a fantastic price...paid $510 for that one...all in all, I save about 40% off the price of retail for this setup...and, it is brand new. I tried to like the Supercube 3 but couldn't...the bass broke up at high volume as maybe the salesman had the level on the sub set too high...anyway, I am not putting this system in a huge room so the series 2 Supercube was perfect. I will write further next week on the system once installed.
UPDATE: Had the system installed about 3 weeks ago...have been loving television and Blue Ray movies since then. The center channel is amazing and unlike the other post (review) on here regarding the BP 7006's, I went with the 2002 center Def Tech as the drivers were a little bit larger, the price was a little cheaper and the sound is amazing (no need for extra subs in the center channel). I am also using a Def Tech Supercube 2 so that makes up for any lack in base anywhere else...it ROCKS...even music sounds AWESOME !!! I have it all hooked up to a Denon 2808 Ci receiver...the clarity of the high volume sound is excellent...I was previous using a Harman Kardon receiver (which is excellent too...but nothing can touch the Denon receivers expecially for surround sound movies..also got an excellent price on this receiver compared to the Denon 2809 as it only has 2 HDMI inputs (so what...for the price I paid, who cares). Get the BP 7006's and you won't be disappointed !!!

Absolutely. Speechless. Dec 05, 2008 If any mid-high range audio company does it right, it's Def Tech.
I bought these on 12/1/08 along with the Def Tech C/L/R 2300, plugged them in to my Yamaha HTR-5890 (130 watts per channel) and they sound INCREDIBLE. I bought them mainly for home theater, but i also listen to music, which sounds crystal clear.
The midrange and tweeter do an incredible job at capturing detailed sounds in movies that I never heard on my previous system. Voices from the center (which contains the exact same midrange, tweeter, and subwoofer that the 7006's do) sound like real voices; not someone talking in a tin can. The subwoofer picks up deep voices and other noises that any other center wouldn't. I highly recommend pairing the fronts and center for a real theater experience.
The 8" subwoofers produce very tight and accurate bass. I have the Sub Level knobs half way up and it is plenty loud. The only thing about the subs is they obviously don't hit the lows that a 10 or 12 can, but this is only noticeable when listening to rap music. For movies and other music, the subs are just perfect.
The speakers on the back of the bi-polar 7006's do a whole lot more than I thought they would. While listening to Every Word by Ercola (in 2 channel stereo) there were parts of the song where I thought my rears were on. I stood up and put my ear next to them, and they weren't. I have the fronts angled in so they are pointing at me while I'm on the couch, and in turn, the midrange and tweeter on the back of the speaker are angled out. This causes the sound to bounce off the front wall, then side walls, and eventually off the back walls. It really fills the whole room with sound, even in 2 channel stereo.
The 7006's are plenty loud and clear for my room (20'x15'). I am so satisfied with them that I don't see the need to upgrade (to the 7004's or 7002's) unless you have a bigger room. My next plan is to get a y-adapter along with two subwoofer cables to hook up the optional LFE jack. This will allow me to set a LFE cut off point on my receiver (and level), thus allowing me to control the bass even more so.
If you are looking in the price range, I suggest Def Tech. It truly creates an amazing home theater experience with life like room filling sound and accurate, tight bass.
EDIT: I have had these speakers for over a week now, and they keep sounding better and better every day. Most high end speakers such as these require a "break-in" period, anywhere between 40 and 60 hours of modest play time. The most noticeable change is definitely in the subwoofers. They are hitting deeper and cleaner than when I first got them. I will keep you updated when I hook up the LFE channel.

Consumer Reports Says Buy Your HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
